Default An average November?

Having started my VP at work about the 7th I have realised that down
here in Dorset(Milton Abbas) there has not been much rain so far.
Well, my memory is poor and cannot remember much between the 1st and
7th!
I am going to see whether I can add, somehow, the rainfall figures
collected down the road about 300 metres away by a chap who has been
'sending in' figures for donkeys years.
Anyway, assuming the situation does not change much (down here anyway)
has it been a 'dry' month so far?

It certainly has been very dry (for November). Also dull & mild.

November has been the wettest month of the year since I started my records
(1991). Rainfall in Penzance is very seasonal compared with the rest of
England.

The driest November I've recorded was 71.7mm in 2001
The 1971-2000 LTA is 139.8mm

This month just 29.5mm, so the driest I've recorded by a large margin.

Should say on 'November has been on average the wettest month of the year'
Then it maks some sense

I've only been going three years but November currently heads the table at
85.8mm followed by January at 71.9mm. I need a few more years before any
trend can be detected with any reliability.

Over to the east, only 23.6mm here in Canterbury, Kent. And only 1 day
rain (10.4mm on 18th) in the last 15 days.

November is not usually the wettest month here in Haytor.

Nov 188 mm
Dec 209 mm
Jan 183 mm

are my wettest months.

This November so far I have had a paltry (poultry!!!) 42.8 mm.

At this rate the ground will be cracking up and the stand pipes will be out -
LOL.
I'm actually missing the rain and wind, not used to not having it at this time
of year. Far too quiet and boring.

Will.
