As it seems to be a dialogue, why not take it to e-mail?

Can you see that happening? I can't. There's an exhibitionist streak to
both of them in that they enjoy being the centre of attention, and this
"dialogue" seems to their way of doing it.

Col, listen, for the good of the newsgroup. Having this "I will not be
dictated to" attitude is being selfish. There's more reading and lurking
than you think, making out you can do as you please is doing you no favours
whatsoever and makes you look foolish. Have some respect for everyone
else's wishes and ignore the windup merchant Damien, cos thats what he is.

Respect the wishes of the majority.

Can you not reply to Mr Damien please? If you want your entertainment at
his expense, do it in a place where we don't have to read it. You may enjoy
what you're doing, those who have killfiled him, like myself, do not wish to
see anything with his name on it. We want to read the WR's, discuss OBS and
argue the finer point of forecasting, we don't want to read your needling of
the boy and his responses.

As neither this kindly approach, nor my rather more vulgar 'see how it
feels' approach yesterday will have the desired effect, I have taken the
advice offered elsewhere in this thread and added some more names to my
killfile.

To those good and sensible members of this group (i.e. those not
resident in my killfile) I would like to say that if my approach
yesterday caused offence to any of you then I am sorry.
(I suppose that different people react differently when frustrated,
particularly when some of the produce of Puglia is involved.)

It is looking much sunnier now (-:

Come on Col (and Lawrence for the matter). This has gone far too far. Damien
is an utter idiot and doesn't deserve the respect or a reply from anyone.
I am big enough to admit that I was daft enough to respond and provoke, but
I'm not going to bother anymore.
This has nothing to do with the weather, of which there has been plenty to
stimulate some interesting posts.
It's not about dictating to you either Col, if you wan't to continue
responding to Damien, great, but just find another forum.
You are the sort of guy we do want on this ng, because the bulk of your
posts are relevant and interesting.
Incidentally, I have a degree, meet MP's on a one to one basis regularly etc
etc, isn't that interesting!!!
