Featherbeds belong to the days when one had to breath on the windows on
a frosty morning, then scrape the "ice ferns" off.

Ah yes ... those were very comfortable ... if only they still existed.

I don't know about comfortable but you can still get them on windows
that are not double glazed.

Yes, another boring 'snow weather report' thread. But the 'guys' that

just
came down from the sky were a good 3 x 1.5 inches, the occaisonal one

maybe
bigger than that.
Never mind 50p pieces. These things were like giant Goose feathers.
Slight covering on the grass, roof, but melting on the roads and

pavements.

I saw the heaviest snow and the biggest flakes I have ever seen in my
life yesterday, although not as big as yours. Snow settled and the
ground was covered in about 5 minutes, even on the roads. This was in
North Dordogne/Charente border region of France, where it has been
unusually cold for the last couple of weeks. It is often cold at nights
here but warms up when the sun comes out during the day. This year has
been cold day and night, often overcast, temperatures remaining below
freezing all day. Forecast suggests it should warm up towards the middle
of this week - I hope so!

Yes indeed, what a coincidence! I was literally just around the corner
from you the other day, in Carreau, taking photos in the snow for a
swimming pool application! Only had a chance to have a quick look at
your site so far but I'm going back later to see if you have data on
there for this area, it will be most interesting if you do.
