Due to give a talk at a collage next week and need confirmation of the
UK's highest temperature. I remember the announcement that 38.5C was recorded at Brogdale, Kent on August 10th 2003 but also remember reading on here (IIRC) that there were "uncertainties" about the reading. Local library kindly gave me a copy of Ian Currie's article (circa Autumn 2003) on a visit to the fruit farm in Kent detailing the local terrain etc. Is Brogdale still the record holder? And can anyone point me to the highest temperatures recorded on the 6th August across the country? Tom Chelmsford, Essex |
