Maybe I'm wrong but I think its that damn Carol who has hear a word
and misinterperated. On BBC breakfast this morning she was going on
about a cold plume coming down from the north. I am sure it would be
better described an arctic blast or better still a cold northerly. I
was under the impression that a plume was a closed area of warm
unstable air with intense covection occuring.

Thanks.

Hmmmm, a cold plunge perhaps, at least for those north of the equator ?!

American TV forecasters call cold air incursions from the north Canadian
Clippers. The opposite of that is Gulf Moisture. There should be some
interesting times soon in the Mid-West when the two meet.

I'm off on a business trip to Memphis on Thursday - I'm hoping for some early
action!

Default Cold Plume?

Correct in every detail.
That is exactly how the media controllers want it. Their companies are
paying for it, so that is what they get.

If you want an educational weather channel, may I suggest that you
start one yourself.
