Sand over Greece

Amazing, Yannis, what sort of temperatures are you expecting in the next few days? I had a look at the chart and you are getting a hefty dose of sand from Libya. The dust itself has kept surface temperatures low here (max of +23.7C with T850 at around +13C -sorry, the sounding for Sunday noon appears to be a mess, might be a result of the dust itself?). Northern Crete, however, made it to +28C with the help of katabatic winds. Monday should see a drop in temperature as cooler air masses are approaching from Italy. Thunderstorms should develop especially over western, northern and northwestern Greece and the northeastern Aegean sea. Temperature maxima should range between 18C and 23C. Yannis, SE Athens +14.0C, RH 67%, SLP 1002.8 hPa considerably clearer atmosphere |

Sand over Greece
I recall reading that the general direction of travel was up from the
east of the med along the north of it off the coast at France and/or Spain then up over the British Isles and on to Scandinavia where the Swedes think we did it. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

As long as the Norwegians don't think the Swedes remained neutral and let the dust invade them overland via Sweden! Karl, Orkney |
