BRACKNELL (TF) 0900 SSW F1-2 12km - 8/ST T147D136 RMK: Stratus base circa 600ft; light/sporadic drizzle/rain overnight - most hard surfaces dry. A little misty first thing, but visibility reasonable now; wind highly variable with near calm to ocnl F3 within a few minutes. [ OVERNIGHT DATA (18Z - 09Z): screen min: 12.9 grass min: 06.6 precipitation: tr other data: Warmest night of the year so far: Swifts seen returning for the summer this morning. A hopeful sign!]= 1100 SSW F2-3 18km - 7/SC //CI T165D148 RMK: First shafts of sunshine appeared ~1045Z; can't tell how much Cirrus above, but not thick as can see the disk of the sun quite clearly as the Sc thins/breaks.= 1430 S F2-3 25km - 2/CU 3/CI T202D142 RMK: Cumulus mediocris (fairly vigorous), with 1 okta Sc and 1 okta Ac also present - the Cirrus showing marked tufting. Over the past hour, the Sc has 'gone convective' and within past 15 minutes, total cloud cover reduced from 7 to 4 oktas: now occasionally sunny - pleasantly warm / humid.= 1800 SE F2-3 30km - 1/SC 4/AC 8/CICS T205D132 RMK: Am almost tempted to put 'FU' in the weather slot as the dreaded BBQ's have started up; The Sc is Cugen; the Ac is a mix of thin/well broken and one area (probably lower) of quite thick appearance. The thick Ci/Cs has spread in over the past 60-70 mins. [ DAYTIME DATA (09Z - 18Z): screen max: 21.4 precipitation: NIL other data: first time to 21° this year: last year (2004) we reached this temperature on the 24th April. ]= -- Martin Rowley: data via - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/booty.weather/metindex.htm Bracknell (Wooden Hill/Tawfield), Berkshire NGR: SU 854 667 Elev: 80m Lat: 51DEG23MIN30SEC(N): Long: 00DEG46MIN28SEC(W) |

1800 SE F2-3 30km - 1/SC 4/AC 8/CICS T205D132
[WR] 1840Z -RA (less than one minute-worth) from unstable medium level cloud - could be high-base TCU I suppose: certainly the Ac in the sky at present looks quite unstable (Ac cast/flo).
