Default Who's reached 21C this year?

somewhere
in Scotland this week.

I'm amazed at that report. On Sunday here (central southern England) it
was sunny, but decidedly cold, no more than 15c I would say.

Much of Britain failed to pass 21 until early-July in 1972.

Was that early summer as awful as it sounds, or did it just have a lot
of pleasant, dry, but not particularly warm anticyclonic northerlies?

Seems you're easily getting the most exciting weather in the UK this
year :-) Does Kent have a significantly better (colder in winter,
warmer in summer) climate than further west along the south coast? I
guess northeasterlies must be a problem in summer.

Re the distinction between Salisbury and the south coast, I noticed
that on May 2nd. I went inland to just west of Salisbury (Dinton) and
there I estimated about 21c while in Southampton I'd have guessed about
18c. That said, there was a sudden drop in temperature about 4pm even
there - though it wasn't associated with any obvious front.
