Wales valleys so clearly, and see how the higher regions got their several inches last night. Thanks Jonathan James -- James Brown |

Just amazing
I can just make out my Stevenson Screen in the garden if I get nearer the screen.. It also reminds me of the many snowless winters in Stirling ![]() brian aberfeldy "Johnathan Hatherleigh-Smyth" John wrote in message ... http://rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/r...32000.250m.jpg |

You can see all the S. Wales valleys so clearly, and see how the higher regions got their several inches last night. It is, indeed, a superb image. The white part of the Western end of the Brecon Beacons looks a little like a pig's head. I am just in the green bit to the north of the pig's snout. The snow just missed me but at least I can see it out of the windows. -- Howard Neil (western end of the Brecon Beacons National Park, at 235 metres asl) |

Did anyone else have such problems? It is a huge image and requires about 140 MB of RAM just to show the image as the jpeg is uncompressed. I have looked at the earlier 11.30 Terra image and cropped out the important bit. There is a large(ish) thumbnail on this page (about 110 KB) and it leads to an enhanced image of about 2.2 MB http://www.mtullett.plus.com/19-dec-2004/ -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 19/12/2004 18:21:32 UTC |

![]() Never before has a web page caused me so much grief. This one crashed my X server. Did anyone else have such problems? Hi Adrian Yes me too. My ADSL router gave up while trying to access this photo. I thought that it was just a fluke signal drop, but I guess it was the site. Any ideas why? Paul |

This one crashed my X server. Did anyone else have such problems? Yup. First try broke up in streaks, then tried lower resolution which timed out several times. Tried again just now and got zilch. Then it started behaving, have the 500M resolution image now. -- Peter Thomas |

Not that that was what was causing Adrian's problem, but had I tried to download the image using my dial-up connection I wouldn't have got very far. -- John Hall "Three o'clock is always too late or too early for anything you want to do."
