We were caught in it. We could see it coming over black clouds and a few
rumbles of thunder in the distance too. Got in the car and set off. After
about 2 or 3 mins hail was hammering the car so hard we couldn't even hear
each other shout. I'm surprised there isn't and paint or body damage to the
car actually. We pulled the car over under a bridge until it passed. A few
other people did too. Managed to get a couple of photos on my phone. (only a
little nokia 7250).

This is the road when the hail had more or less stopped falling

Dad said it felt like driving on a road surface covered in marbles. The
traction control was constantly cutting in.

Once we'd got to Tesco I took this of a car which must have been parked
there throughout the whole thing.

Not just Peterborough. I know of several cyclists in mid-Norfolk who got
pelted by significant chunks of hail this afternoon, metaphorically drowned
in the torrents out of the sky, and many a puncture was sustained due to
flints & stones in run-off from the fields, including a certain offspring
who punctured on way from HQ to start of time trial. Indeed many a narrow
lane was turned into a river bed (not joking!).

Lovely rainbow though :-)

Cheers.
