I think he might talk like that because it probably went down a storm
(pun intended) when he was a US TV weatherman - you know how the
Americans like a posh English accent.

He sounds good on radio and he is not immune from the odd cock-up, as
he said 50 Celsius in tonight's 1757 forecast.

certain family in mid-Norfolk to whom estimation of wind direction & speed
