That's well weird, how on earth did they manage that??

We've also got Kent floating around the SE Midlands and S Wales stuck
somewhere in the middle of the Irish Sea :)

Oh, and I think those Dutch dykes may have been overwhelmed...............

Don't know if I'm seeing the same as you, Will, but I can't see Brittany
at all but I can see a faint outline of the Cherbourg peninsula under a
layer of cloud that extends northwards to the English south coast.
Or am I missing something?

Hi Mike

I think what Will is referring to is the cloud. If you look closely at the
outline of it in the south, you'll see it is exactly as the N French coast
would be, as well as the coast of S England. Cornwall and Devon, for
example, lie over S Wales, with Wales itself in the Irish Sea as far as
Dublin:-)

Ever since the new graphics were introduced these satellite charts have
had the imagery displaced about 150 miles north of where it should be.
It's a constant error. The satellite imagery never matches up with the
radar imagery.

Do you have any idea why they state on that page:
"These satellite charts show the image you can see from space, so are only
available during the day between 1100 and 1600"
?

Obviously you couldn't take nighttime pictures at visible wavelengths, but
11:00 - 16:00 (GMT presumably, as the latest dispalyed pic is timed at 17:00)
is nowhere near the daylight hours, especially at this time of year.

What's really hacked me off no end Norman is that in the past few days, several
of us have pointed this out offline, and it's still not fixed. Confirms to me
two things:
1. They don't ap[arently give a toss.
2. The whole introduction of these new graphics has been disgracefully rushed
in.
If those images are wrong then they should be removed until they are fixed.
That, at least, would be the *professional* thing to do.

Presumably they are just being bloomin lazy and simply cannot be bothered to
alter the software to cope with different times of year ?

Perhaps 'Professional' sums up what they are not now that the News
department run the Weather, News is their profession not weather !

Unfortunately the BBC is getting more and more 'tacky' by the week.
Perhaps a 'fly on the wall' programme situated in the boardroom would
make a good programme, where we can watch 24/7 the antics of the people
running the BBC, but they will have to mute the sound when words of more
than four syllables are used. "Big Plonker"

You are missing something. It hit me around the eyeballs about 2s
after it appeared on screen. Take a closere look at the shape of the
cloud over southern England...
