I can't believe that's true at all, if you take the UK as a whole. I
can't believe it's been drier than the 8 months starting April 1995
were. (feel free to correct me).

Seriously, how many other developed countries cram 70% of their
population into 25% of the land, that land being on average the driest
area of the country, with government incentives to do so?*
You don't see areas as crowded as southeast England in the Australian
outback, or Death Valley.

*That's the impression I get, at least for England.

Not according to their use. I believe they were originally designed for
women to gain a larger overview of the other things that are going on
whilst they are applying their make-up.
