Hi oldies,

Pray tell me, who are these Pink Floyd chaps? The name means nothing to
me.

:-) :-)

Even I am a huge fan at 20 years old ! The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon
are most played on my iPod.

Been a perfect day to be glued to the TV and Live 8. Cloudy outside, yet a
balmy warmth. Ideal for all involved.

I must say the music has been far better than I was expecting, with many
bands I hear my son playing. I go back to Knebworth and Led Zeppelin and
when we used to get Status Quo, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath adn Humble Pie
at the Kursaal.

Tell me I'm getting old, but is all the swearing really necessary? I was
most dissapointed in Madonna !

I agree, The swearing was totally unnecessary, Robbie Williams started as
well. As I've said before it's all gone to pot - did any one heat that
pompous **** robbie williams say he was addicted to dust???? Now what could
he mean Star dust from the cosmos? I don't think so, the idiot is to thick
to know where the cosmos is

I'm 25, and had only heard the name a few times (without knowing who
they were); never heard of those song titles (were the ones they played
tonight :-0 ?)

I do like Buddy Holly music though, that's even older :-)

I thought the old boys were teriffic, I hope they do a tour - or even a one
off concert! I'd certainly go and see it no matter where in the world was. I
frustratingly passed up the chance to go and see the (Waters-less) Division
Bell tour.
But if that was the swan song, it was a nice that it ended on a happy note
for (IMO) the greatest rock band ever.

Just some overweight middle-aged millionaires bleating on about how
poverty is crap.

Perhaps if one or two of them quietly sold all their houses and
Ferraris, used the money on a few years ARV drug supplies, and moved to
a three-bed semi somewhere, I'd sit up and take notice. But perhaps they
aren't *that* committed.

Agree Keith, difficult one with the swearing. I just think it spoils things
for the nans and the kids watching. I know my mum will have turned it off at
that point even though she loves Paul McCartney. Thought Madonna was great
nevertheless.

My TV schedule was
Cricket - NatWest Series Final
Time Team - Big Roman Dig
Golf - Cialis Western Open

plus odd bits of the Rugby Union, Live 8, Wimbledon, the Smurfit
European Open and the Tour de France mixed in. With the French Grand
Prix today as well, the Outside Broadcast industry must be booming.
