The latest version of the Weatherlink software (v5.6.0) has now moved
from beta to full release status. As usual, it's available as a free download for anyone with an existing installed v5.x Weatherlink version from: http://www.davisnet.com/support/weat...asp#vantagePro The main new features are an increase in the number of web upload profiles from 3 to 8, additional wind speed averaging periods on eg the Summary screen and support for configuring the VP2 wireless repeaters, which are about to be released. However, there is also quite a list of detail refinements and bug fixes. John Dann www.weatherstations.co.uk |

The additional profiles for web uploading will be very useful as I've
always had to decide what 'span' to use, now I could have say, 1 week, 1 month and 12 months for graphs etc. 1. The "Use 00:00" option for exporting data is fixed. Can you now change from 00:00 to say 09:00 or 18:00 as 24 hours periods? Even though I have mine to reset at 18:00 the bulletin still always resets at 00:00, so I have to close and restart it. Have they fixed the WeatherUnderground lockout feature when things go wrong? Finally, the wind speed averaging periods, do these and many other new features still work with the WMII? Maybe time to think of a VP in the next year, are there any new versions due that maybe worth waiting for? :-) Thanks Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net. I just found this in the Davis blurb :-)
16. Added the ability to reset the timestamp of the last data uploaded to Weather Underground, if the Weather Underground module is installed. Keith (Southend) |

Many thanks John, Do you have to uninstall the previous 5.5.1 release or can
you just install over the top of it? Ray http://www.rpj-bexhill.demon.co.uk/westparadefast.htm Weather at Bexhill-on-Sea East Sussex "John Dann" wrote in message ... ... Many thanks John, Do you have to uninstall the previous 5.5.1 release or can you just install over the top of it? Ray You do not need to uninstall v5.5.1, as v5.6 acts as an update. I had also installed the wunderground module, which keeps on running without my having had to uninstall it and reinstall it. At some point you do get a notification about having to uninstall and then reinstall a USB driver; i didn't quit the installation process and it went fine. Also, all my records are still in their position! :-) Yannis, SE Athens +25.9C, RH 47%, SLP 1013.4 hPa F7-8 etesians in the Aegean these days |

I'll give it a go when I have some free time, just in case ;-0 I guess it's wise to quit 5.5.1 before installing the new one, not have the bulletin running etc? -- Keith (Southend) 'Weather Home & Abroad' http://www.southendweather.net |

Well just to be sure you'll install it without problems, I think you'd better quit the program before installing the update. Yannis, SE Athens +25.9C still, RH 45% http://www.e-kairos.com/terpsithea I usually install in new directory to check that all is well before removing the old version. I also needed to install the Wunderground module and get that working before deleting the old version. I would certainly not have any Weatherlink version running when carrying out the installation.
