The back edge of the cold front/occlusion crossing Ireland was very marked.
These three images were taken looking roughly west from the car park at Portstewart Golf Club at 13.20 BST today. http://www.mtullett.plus.com/28-sep-2005/ -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 28/09/2005 13:55:27 UTC |

Very nice pictures, Mike. Much more ill-defined here with just a cessation of the rain, a drop in wind speed and a slight brightening. Earlier, quite a lot of wave activity on Loch Long as the wind funneled up the 'trench'. -- Alan White Twenty-eight miles NW of Glasgow, overlooking Loch Goil and Loch Long in Argyll, Scotland. The image time is 12.53 GMT, incorrectly annotated on the image, just to

Bernard
The annotation has caused some confusion before and I have taken it up with the software author. It should preferably state BST and not GMT Daylight time (i.e GMT +1). I noticed that your HRPT image shows this feature extremely well.... Geoff "Bernard Burton" wrote in message ... It's got "anafront" written all over it here's hoping for some action as it crosses the UK although wetterzentrale is showing zippo lightning and the ukmo rain radar's goosed with the beeb not being much help either as it's showing *live* rainfall for 7pm tonight (written at, erm, 1611z) ): Isn't it a bit early in the year for these rearward sloping ana cold fronts? BTW. Nice pix, Mike. Les -- Les Crossan, Wallsend, Tyne & Wear 54.95N 1.5W Home of the Wallsend StormCam and the Backup USW FAQ - www.uksevereweather.org.uk |
