Very wet September so far
Good evening everyone.
The current month has been very wet so far for the basin of Athens and central continental Greece in general. It could prove to be the second wettest September since 1897, while some suburbs could be experiencing their wettest September since that year. Some figures: 142 mm in Lamprini, Athens so far 125.8 mm in Kifisia 66.8 mm in Acharnae and, just north of Athens, 520 mm within 24h in the central mountainous area of the Evia island within 24h (alt. 1050 m). The month so far has had 10 days with precipitation and 7 days with thunder at my site in the southeast of the city. Yannis, SE Athens only 0.3 mm today |
