Looks like Wed/Thu could be interesting in the Northeast.
Right now it appears it may be a snow/slop storm except for way up north, but it bears watching. peace, -*- charles -- This article was auto-posted by the ne.weather.moderated Weatherbot program. But, for my area (Central Middlesex Cty, MA), the details a A PERIOD OF SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION AND GUSTY WINDS EXPECTED FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT... A PERIOD OF SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...THEN TAPER OFF TO RAIN SHOWERS BY WEDNESDAY EVENING. TEMPERATURES AT THE ONSET OF PRECIPITATION EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING SHOULD BE COLD ENOUGH TO SUPPORT SNOW...SLEET AND POSSIBLY SOME FREEZING RAIN ACROSS NORTHWESTERN MASSACHUSETTS AND SOUTHWESTERN NEW HAMPSHIRE. SOME SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION WILL OCCUR OVER THE INTERIOR BEFORE THIS CHANGEOVER. THIS MAY HAVE AN ADVERSE IMPACT ON THE WEDNESDAY MORNING COMMUTE. PRECIPITATION WILL QUICKLY CHANGE TO RAIN LATER IN THE MORNING...AS TEMPERATURES WARM ALOFT. ELSEWHERE...PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS ALL RAIN. RAIN MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES IN THE AFTERNOON. RAINFALL TOTALS SHOULD AVERAGE AROUND ONE INCH WITH SOME LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. MINOR POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING MAY RESULT ESPECIALLY IN URBAN LOCATIONS. WIND SPEEDS WILL INCREASE TO 25 TO 35 MPH ALONG PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS DURING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WITH HIGHER GUSTS POSSIBLE. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE SOUTHWEST DURING THE EVENING AS A COLD FRONT CROSSES THE AREA. STRONG WIND GUSTS APPROACHING 50 MPH MAY OCCUR JUST BEHIND THE FRONTAL PASSAGE. HOWEVER THE TIMING AND STRENGTH OF THESE WINDS REMAINS SOMEWHAT UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME...AS LOW PRESSURE IS JUST BEGINNING TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS. SEAS ARE EXPECTED TO BUILD CLOSE TO 15 FEET ACROSS THE OUTER COASTAL WATERS. TIDES WILL NOT BE ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH DURING THIS EVENT. HOWEVER SOUTHERLY SWELL AND WIND WAVE ACTION COULD PRODUCE SOME MINOR BEACH EROSION ALONG SOUTH COASTAL LOCATIONS OF RHODE ISLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS. -- This article was auto-posted by the ne.weather.moderated Weatherbot program. The big question for me is where the low is going. Larry Cosgrove is calling for it to stay along the coast which would mean big snow for my area. But both the ETA and the GFS show an inland runner, meaning snow changing to rain. Not really sure what to think at this point... peace, -*- charles -- This article was auto-posted by the ne.weather.moderated Weatherbot program.
