Cute. But I guess I need to know what, now, is the correct way of measuring
snow, and what might cause inflated totals (besides SBIMBY).

During the last storm, I just measured cumulative depth, without sweeping
off a pad periodically. This probably "deflated" my possible totals by a
few inches, since the last few hours snowfall seemed to get absorbed into
the existing snowpack.

So what's the right way of measuring, without being accused of SBIMBY?
