I am very interested in acquiring a program that allows me to view the
NexRad Level III data files, such as those archived by NCDC and distributed by the NNDC. Does anyone know where such a program may be located? Preferably, I would like to see images output like these I got from level II data: http://www.njfreeways.com/weather/data/07Jan96/ I overlayed the map from the standard KDIX real-time image available on-line, but other than that and some cropping, that is how the image was out-put from the level II data viewer available at NCDC/NNDC. I would simply use the level II data for everything, but it has some unfortunate gaps, so I've fallen back on trying to read level III data as well. An alteration of the color scheme would probably be acceptable. Thank you any and all who get back to me... ==== Raymond C Martin Jr http://www.njfreeways.com/weather/ |

StormLab at http://www.interwarn.com is both a real-time and archive data
viewer for NWS Level III data with a LOT of bells and whistles. There's also a utility available at request that will convert the NCDC data into the software's file cataloging format.
