Typhoon Aere to affect southeastern China sea

BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The 18th typhoon this year, Aere,
is moving towards China and will affect southeastern China sea,
according to the China Meteorological Administration.

The typhoon was 550 kilometers east of Taidong County of Taiwan
Province with the center at 22.9 degrees north latitude and 126.3
degrees east longitude at 10 a.m. Monday. The maximum wind has reached
force 12 near the center and is strengthening. It is moving
northwestwards at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour and is approaching
the northeastern Taiwan, said the latest forecast by the Central
Meteorological Station under the administration.

In the next two days, most of the East China Sea, the Taiwan
Straits, Zhejiang and Fujian will receive strong storms and gales and
the eastern and northern Taiwan will receive torrential rains.

In addition, in the next three to 10 days, rain will fall in most
of western China, including downpours in some regions, according to
