that the Man-Made Global Warming believers can never explain why it's
true in less than 100 lines? Not to mention Man-Made Global Warming is nothing more than a 'theory' Gravity on the other hand is a LAW. Who doubts Gravity? No one. Who doubts Man-Made Global Warming? About 600 scientists worldwide. The 'theory' said by all the Man-Made Global Warming believers is that those scientists must all be working for or being paid off by big bad oil companies. You people are very silly. |

You people are very silly. Explain, in detail, from first principles, how gravity works. That is stupid. Gravity is a LAW and works very well. Man-Made Global Warming is a theory at best and shouldn't require explanations IF it's even true. Again, weather IS NOT THE SAME AS climate. A Global Temp increase could be because of readings from North America or even Europe. It does not blame MAN's action at all. COULD YOU explain how my car is a factor in blizzards in Germany or Flood in Mexico? If all of it is iron clad than a simple paragraph should explain it. |

"Man's Actions" causing a GLOBAL rise in temps is so stupid I can't see defending it. What about the scientists who disagree? I guess they all work for big bad nazi oil companies? All 600 of them, right? |

"Man's Actions" causing a GLOBAL rise in temps is so stupid I can't see defending it. What about the scientists who disagree? I guess they all work for big bad nazi oil companies? All 600 of them, right? ^-Godwin's Law The point is that if you can't explain something as simple as gravity, which everyone believes in, why should I believe you understand something as complex as climate physics, which over 600 scientists, many of them with actual training in something vaguely related to climate physics (e.g., physical chemistry, molecular biology, explosives engineering), don't believe in? This points out to me you are simply not qualified to make any assessments whatsoever about complicated technical issues since you can't even understand basic simple things. Besides, aren't you just here to provide comic relief? I seem to recall you saying something like that once. Maybe it was foo-foo. I get all you guys confused, you all sound the same. Why is it though, that none of you skeptics can understand that you can *never* prove a theory. It is a logical impossibility. Theories can only be disproven. Instead of requiring people to prove a theory, which can't be done and asking someone to do it makes the asker look ignorant of philosophy and science, it is much more powerful to provide evidence disproving a theory. It takes you from being a passive voice in the discussion, to having an active voice. Admittedly, this is very hard to do with respect to climate change (and frankly I don't think any of you are up to the task), so instead we get assinine requests to prove theories. Again, this shows why you skeptics are getting an ass****ing of biblical proportions (to quote Neal Stephenson) in terms of the scientific debate. You need to start bringing some credible objections raised by people who don't have internet kook websites discussing why quantum mechanics is wrong. Anyway, Godwin's Law, thread's over. -- Bill Asher |

SNIP You people are very silly. Explain, in detail, from first principles, how gravity works. How gravity works: 1. You are fat. When I trip you, you hit the ground harder 2. I'm skinny. When you trip me, I don't hit the ground as hard as you did. 3: I think I'll keep tripping you. It's fun to watch your fat hit the ground! Now, that explanation of gravity is just as stupid as the Global Warming nonsense. Twenty five years ago, the doom and gloomers were warning us to prepare for the next ice age. Don't belive me, do a search for the New York Times. I believe March of 1976. They went on and on about the loss of crops due to extreme cold lasting into June. Not enough fuel to heat our homes in the extreme frigid cold about to hit the US. And on and on............. |

NOT just as stupid but rather MORE, much more, stupid than someone explaining global warming. 99% of the keyboard heros on the NET think they understand global warming, and 100% blame it on man's action. It's too bad we WILL see a carbon tax on individual incomes within 5 years.. You all asked for this.. |

Dear Ectomorph: Do a search for peer-reviewed publications in mainstream technical journals from that era that predicted there would be an ice age. You won't find them. You won't believe me, but alas, you are also incapable of even beginning to understand how such a literature search might be conducted (or you would have done it already and discovered that writing the thing you did above makes you look at best semi-retarded). Therefore, I predict you will be limited to responding with more insults, and maybe if I am lucky a link or two to some wack website with a mangled citation that when examined closely will not back your point. Such is the lot of you all on the lunatic fringe. I suggest you stockpile guns, food, and medicine. Thinking those things will protect you from all the bogeymen in the world might ease the gnawing fear inside you. -- Bill Asher p.s. Loved the explanation of gravity. It fits with the semi-retarded assessment of mine above. Do you also have a webpage where you have a personal theory of how some major theory in physics is wrong? Maybe you're an "an inertial drive *is* possible" kind of a guy? Whatever, send me the link. Thanks. |
