Anyone know if the data from the Hadely center for the Central England
Temp. and Precipiation record is available in excel format?

http://www.met-office.gov.uk/researc...HadCET_act.txt

Paste the data into Excel and thn do a text to columns conversion

The following perl script I knocked up will download the data and create
a excel compatible file.

(you may need to sort out line wrapping)

Default Hadely Data in xcel format?

It's easy enough to convert it into Excel format, eg by using a text
editor or word processor to replace spaces by commas and then reading it
into Excel as a CSV file. If you can't manage that, email me and I'll
send you my own copy that I downloaded a year or so ago and imported
into Excel. If any values have recently been amended by the Hadley
Centre, it won't reflect that.
