Getting the hang of making these movies now with my small webcam. Auto
Exposure settings, speed etc took a lot of tinkering.
Todays movie shows cloud structure / movement / evoloution extremely well in
several layers, with some vapour trails also appearing at times.
Well worth the 5mb download. As is the faster weekly movie.
Alex.

Nice to see the snow come and go on the weekly movie.
What S/W are you using for this?

Hi Steve
Qutoing a reply I gave last week for the same question...

"Firstly I'm using a programme called Capturemax 2.5 to capture still
images,
it has the ability to compile time lapse movies itself using hefty
bitmap
files - but the resultant movies are too large. It also, however,
creates a
local time stamped jpeg archive. It's a shareware programme - but
these
features are available without purchase.
Currently the jpegs are created every 20 seconds."

"To compile the movies, I'm using a programme I bought a couple of
years ago
called movie salsa. It has no problem using sequenced Jpegs and
converting
them into a movie.
It's an extremely adaptable programme, and can run multiple schedules.
I believe it runs even better alongside image salsa & virtual weather
station software, something I'll probably investigate next year."

Alex.

Splendid stuff!

I like the strobing effect when you have sunny intervals!

Hi Richard,
Yep, strange effect mid afternoon yesterday - must've been due to short
sunny intervals.
Interesting too the black sun effect - a sign that the CCD is struggling.
Also looking forward to seeing CB's, moonlight and just about anything else
that happens over the course of a year, I shouldn't tempt grassland fire's
though!
I will probably make a DVD from a years worth of footage and set it too
vivaldi's four seasons, or some other appropriate tracks.
Hope you are well mate.
Alex.
