Default Snow records - Manchester

I've searched this Godforsaken internet long and hard for records of
snow events in Manchester going back 60 years without success.

Snow depths would be great, but first-hand accounts would suffice. Even
surrounding areas would be fine (as long as on similar or lower
elevations)

Can anyone recommend any source, either internet or paper, where I
might find this information?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this helps as a starting point - you may be able to contact
them personally. - Data for Manchester Airport.

Should that perhaps read "no. of days snow lying..."? I find it hard to
believe that they could have gone for such a prolonged period with no
snow lying.
