Default Summer 2006 - a damp squib

With the current weather pattern quite similar to last year I wonder
if this summer will be similar to last - ie very unremarkable.

Thoughts anyone?

I certainly hope so - even the limited amount of very hot weather we had
was very wearing...

Last summer was beautiful. Not too hot and quite dry.
At least it was here on Dartmoor. So bring it on!

You can never win with value judgements Scott!

Will (hot weather (25 deg C) hater).

Last summer in Penzance was sunny, saw temperatures 0.9 above the LTA,
rainfall 78% of the LTA.
It was widely regarded as the best Summer since 1995.
(Although 2003 was slightly warmer it was much wetter, and there was less
sunshine).

If it's the same this year, that'll be great.

Graham

To be honest, Will, I'd like a clear northerly airstream here. So any
hot weather would be tempered by very low dew points. And
thunderstorms every three nights to keep the lawn green - now that
I've exchanged my hosepipe for three cactus plants!

I want it to be cool and breezy to keep my hayfever away, with sundays
sunny but not too hot for Cricket about 25, with light outbreaks of beer
on sunday evenings after the match

We've had summer already. It was last Tuesday.

Dont tell me you missed it.

We are just marking time until next winter now.

In the SE the damp part is desirable; unlike others here I don't mind high
temperatures provided it is not too humid although anything 30°C does start
to be uncomfortable.

Need more rain this year, river levels were quite low last year and upset my
trout and salmon fishing.

Agreed. If the summer of 2005 had occurred in the 1960s, we'd have
thought it unusually warm and dry. (From the perspective of SE England.
Conditions may have been different last summer further north and west.)
