Default Funnel clouds

Funnel Clouds witnessed over mid Devon today in the Tiverton area. I was
under one and looked up to find the whole cloud rotating. These didn't get
that far down from cloud base.

Definitely a convergence zone at mid day as the surface winds were from
south to north and the higher clouds were moving from west top east. Now at
6pm all clouds and winds are from the west.
A few thundery raindrops but nothing much.

Interesting, as the risk of tornadic developments was highlighted this
morning, although not specifically for Devon.

The convergence zone across Devon was well captured by the mesoscale this
morning though. Also, one of the 4km model runs from yesterday got the more
discrete cell that developed in the east Devon/Somerset area spot on.

Jon.
