I know it's still some days away, but would anyone one care to make a
forecast for Manchester on Saturday? Five of us are coming down from
Scotland (yes there are Jocko cricket fans!) for the Test match, and we
are starting to get a little nervous over the weather.

As I don't trust the BBC forecast as far as I could throw it, I thought
I'd ask the experts.

And I don't wish to depress you, but rain washed out the third day on
the Ashes match last year (that's the Saturday, I believe). the only day
to be lost to rain throughout the whole five-match series :-)

I know, I had the good fortune to be at the second day of that test. We
only lost 20 minutes to rain and had a lovely afternoon. On the
saturday I went to the Imperial War Museum North while it chucked down
;-)

Based on the GFS 12Z it does look like a cold front will be edging in from
the west during midday. I supect this will be showery in nature, and as such
the day will not be a wash out. Expect played to be extended till 19:00
however.
