Default "20°C in London"

So it said on the 1255 R4 forecast. So, 19°C, say, here. What
nonsense! It's a steady 14°C here with 8/8 St at about 500 ft and
only very slightly brighter to the NW. I'll be surprised if we reach
15°C. These forecasts are so slapdash they're not worth listening to.
I listen to them to enhance my mockery skills which are now fully up
to newsgroup standards, but Joe Public is not so privileged.

Starting to brighten up here in Canterbury - currently only 16.7C
(although that's 0.8C up on an hour ago). 6.1mm of rain since 09Z.

Of course, it never actually brightened up at all. Top temperature today
a mere 17.0C: coldest day since 26th June.

You've taken the words right out of my mouth Tudor ,.Considering that
Daaareeen Beeett was broadcasting from a London studio you would have
thought that he would have noticed how bloody cold and miserable it was
outside when he came to the studio, mind they did the self same thing on
Saturday.....grrrrr.

The sun has just come out in St Albans at 17:00 hrs and the temperature has
reached 17.7°C - I will be surprised if we see 20°C though.

Yesterday's maximum (13/08) was 20.8°C reaced just before the afternoon
thunderstorm which raised the total rainfall for the day to 16mm. Grass will
need to be cut in a day or so as it is already becoming more green. All the
plants seem to have enjoyed the soaking as well.

Well, that's not so bad, then. But it only got to 15.5°C here
(at about 1830Z) and the low cloud disappeared shortly after that. As
far as I am concerned it was a poor forecast. Of course they only have
2 minutes, thanks to the fools at the BBC, but I sometimes wonder if
they actually want any more. Often the ranges quoted in the forecasts
are little better than climatological, to which I mutter "yes, that
should cover it", though to be fair that wasn't the particular problem
this time.
