Default [OT] Russia plans Mars nuclear station

Russia plans Mars nuclear station - They say that all the necessary
technical drawings have now been completed, and - after a few minor niggles
have been ironed out - all will be ready for the construction work to begin.
Russia hopes to set up a permanent base on Mars. The power plant should be
up and running by 2030. But experts are already asking questions about the
feasibility of the project. The first extra-terrestrial nuclear power
station will serve the permanent research camp which, Russian scientists
believe, could be set up on Mars within the next 30 years

3 Things:

1) What are they going to do with their nuclear waste?
2) Is the power going to be used to send power to earth (like Microwave
power in Simcity!)
3) Why?

As was said in the post and in the article, for
a permanent station on Mars.
= no power transmission to Earth
= nuclear fuel will last longer than anything else

4) More importantly, what has this got to do with weather?

Why Mars and not the moon?

The bars taste better!

Cheers, Alastair.

As you should know Alastair. The bars/pubs on the Moon, have no atmosphere.
Whereas the pub/bars on Mars with the atmosphere being very thin! Would suit
the likes of Kate Moss, Jodie Kidd ect.
So the perfect solution! Mars for Ibiza bars (long way away no noise). On
the moon of course the elderly can be incontinent and quiet in the " Wee of
Tranquility"

Alright. Suit yourselves!
