Thunder and lightning and large hail here in Dudley at around 5pm. Storm
lasted for about half an hour and left a white over covering of large ice pellets/hail. Lightning and thunder every 2 minutes or so. Lightning detector said that the storm was 3 miles or less away. Since then light snow showers on and off for about an hour has left a light covering of about half a cm. Melting underway already. Mike www.dudleyweather.co.uk |

Mike www.dudleyweather.co.uk There was an awesome hailstorm in Wolverhampton town centre. Many people were visibly shocked and scared by the ferocity and thunder and lightning. 2-5cm of large soft hail (marble sized) on the ground for a time. Some cars had around 10-15 cm of hail/snow on them, but I don't know exactly where they had come from. |

Great picture Terry, i have a few myself but have not been able to upload
them yet due to work. The Hail Storm of 2005 are the biggest hail i've ever witnessed. Hail 5cms an up, big balls here in Dudley. There were pictures on the website, but due to moving to a different server, they have dissappeared. However, i hope to get all pictures up at the weekend. There are some good pictures of the storm event. Mike www.dudleyweather.co.uk "Russel Sprout" wrote in message ... "Michael Di Bernardo" wrote in message .uk... I've started to use an Olympus SP350 digital camera for weather/ clouds
lately. The photo is a bit blurred, which never happens with my old manual film cameras. I used the auto setting which must have made the exposure long enough for camera shake to show. I like the quick results and manupulation of digital but prefer the feel of the old substantial SLRs. Whatever you use, its all about getting a decent picture of what's there in the end isn't it.
