Further to this, does anyone know of any remaining manufacturers of a Besson
comb nephoscope? "Mike Lewis" wrote in message ... Does anyone still use a black bulb thermometer and, if so, do you know who still manufactures them/where can they be purchased? Mike Pitsford Hall |

I'd be surprised if any have been manufactured within the last 40 years or more ... As I'm sure you know, they are *very* fragile and there can't be many left these days. I have one which I use occasionally, the serial number shows it was made and/or calibrated in 1954. It has to said that the value of its readings are questionable in the extreme, but it's an interesting little backwater in instrumental history ... Stephen Stratfield Mortimer, Berkshire |
