As an amateur with no meteorological education, I hesitate to call it anything at all in case I get laughed at, but my first thought was, "it's a funnel cloud". It didn't reach the water, so it can't be a waterspout, can it? http://www.flickr.com/photos/allybea...7601023984044/ Anyway, I have now christened it a "not-tornado", 'cause it's not. The rain that came after it was amazing, and was followed by a glorious sunset. (I'm still uploading the rest of the photos.) ally |

If it was a not a mini waterspout it would be sub mini but since it is a not a mini tornado then I suppose it could be a light micro. |
