OK, there are still 11 days left, but with the predicted weather it must
be a distinct possibility.

Only once before did this happen in my record, and that was July'83.

Only 1 day since 7th July below 20c (25th July-18c) in Hull.
Not bad for here :-)

Mag
P.S. Only 2mm of rain so far this month. My grass is now dead!!!! (At least
I don't need to cut it :-))

Our local council try to cut the grass verges, even if they are little
more than dust. Fortunately they are actually green at the moment.

Only 1 day below 20C here in Leeds.
That was 19C on 20th August, with with only 5mm rain, on 11th August.

Going by my own experience of grass, you may find that there's a
miraculous resurrection when we have some rain.

I have had 6 days this month with maxes BELOW 20 deg C. Coldest day was on the
16th with a max of 18.5 and a min of 12.6 and 1.7 mm rain.
As for the grass here - it just grows and grows and grows and grows ... albeit
at a slower rate now :-)

Indeed - I well remember how dead it looked in late August 1976, but
then a month later after heavy rain...

My lowest max here in Leicester is 21.1 on 19th. My average for the month is
dropping, but is still 20.8. (non-standard exposure, but usually pretty
close to local stations).

I have only had one min below 10, that was 9.4 on 20th.

which also occured on 19th.

Where I live is pretty well built up, 2 miles South West of the centre of
Leicester, so the urban effect probably explains the difference.
