![]() For the second day in a row the weather forecasts for the Hampshire area have not come to pass... yesterday it was supposed to rain yet it was actually a passable day. Today they're still forecasting something along the lines of sunshine and showers, not this diabolical gloom we've got instead. Tomorrow the met office chart suggests a different airmass moving in though - by the looks of the charts, it looks like an extreme returning form of polar maritime, which originated over the Atlantic. So perhaps tomorrow will be brighter, if more showery in this area... but quite frankly that's an improvement! Nick |

Don't know what part of Hampshire you're in but here just north of Portsdown Hill we had 30 mins of steady rain yesterday afternoon - around 3pm. I'm told that Cosham, 4-5 miles away, missed it. We've had a light shower this morning. And here lies the problem with trying to give a county wide forecast - variations can be large over very modest distances. |

My son lives just over one mile from me and we swap weather info via IM. Some days you would think we lived in different countries. That said, yesterday the BBC forecast was "sunny intervals" with no mention of rain, so I embarked on some bricklaying. It then proceeded to rain steadily for almost the entire day. I got very wet at least 3 times. |
