Has anybody tries the new gadget download as advertised on the Met
Office site? Come on guinea pigs tell me if it's any good!

Works fine as a detached Vista gadget, the flyout needs a 'click to
activate' to use the buttons although there is no reminder. May be
related to the MS/Eolas patent nonsense and will be fixed in the April
2008 IE update ( preview avbl Dec 2007 ).

Pity I cannot use it. I'm running Windows XP with IE 6.0 and I'm not upgrading
to Vista just for that!

You can run the Vista sidebar on XP (and hence all the various gadgets),
but it's not officially supported.

Well if it isn't, I won't get it either. You won't catch me upgrading
to Vista just to bloat Microsoft's pocket even more, not even for a
weather gadget. Hopefully the Met Office will make a version for the
many many XP users still out here; if not, their loss too.

It's worth upgrading to IE7. It really is a big improvement on IE6.
It's worth it for the tabs alone.
