Default Sky TV weather

A few days ago I sung the praises of Sky TV's Francis Wilson. Now I
am impressed with another Sky weather presenter - Lisa Burke.

Sure in appearance she is a classic "weather girl". She was once
voted "sexiest weather girl of all-time" in a poll of 1,000 men. I
would not argue with that.

But seeing beyond her undoubted physical appeal, she clearly knows her
weather; so much so that I looked up her biography. Quote: "She went
to Cambridge and studied natural science. She graduated in 1999 with a
first-class masters degree in natural sciences. She came second in the
university, won two university prizes and was made a scholar of New
Hall." OK, not a degree in meteorology but certainly an impressive
CV.

TV weather girls all show and no substance? Certainly not Miss
Burke.

BBC Scotland's weather presenter, Heather Reid (usually referred to as
Heather the Weather) was Chairperson of the Institute of Physics in
Scotland up to a few years ago.

In addition to her honours degree in Physics she has a Masters in
Remote Sensing and Image Processing from Edinburgh University's
Meteorology Department

....and she's a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society

....and she's received an OBE for services to Physics

...and she's been awarded the annual Kelvin Medal by the Institute of
Physics

Mmm , so what does she look like that?
