Countryfile, Rob McElwee, "There's no severe winter in this forecast, you'll
notice, we've had that".

When was that then Rob 1979?

I suppose he had to say something along those lines after all the fuss
our BBC drama queens were making last week for what to many was a non
event!

I didn't watch him today as I've given up on their one day forecasts let
alone a week!

Slip of the tongue for "severe weather" I expect.

Well I certainly heard Rob saying something like that. He said that
we had winter last week and there would be no winter this week but in
no way did he imply that winter was over for good this year.

Last week's Countryfile forecast was quite good in fact, it was
pitched exactly right I thought.

"Just a hint of something interesting later in the week" is what they
said. No hype or guesswork, just the facts. We got exactly that,
something "interesting".

It was even "interesting" here on the South Coast as I had my first
air frost of the year yesterday -1.0 deg C and today, the maximum so
far is a bitter 7.5 deg C so far (but 3 days were colder in
January). A new ice age is upon us!

The groundhog must not have seen his shadow all winter in the UK with
the generally mild weather I've read about :-)
