Anyone got an explanation for these strange shapes?

I saw those too,but didn't have a camera with me. The blanket of cloud
which
had been present for most of the afternoon here cleared from the NE with a
well defined back edge about 6 ish yesterday evening. The clouds pictured
above formed in the otherwise blue skies following on behind.



Where was that Ian?

6 miles inland from coast, just north of Humber.
