Distant thunder and lightning started at around 5am this morning but never
got close, brief bursts of heavy rain from 5:30am onwards.

Quite atmospheric watching the lightning flicker through the mist.

Rather soggy, muggy and murky this morning with the occasional short-lived
downpour.

3 well-separated rumbles of thunder here 8 to 8.30 a.m. but only
very brief moderate rain, total 1.5 mm and probably not more than 0.5
mm since then.
