I see that Ken Cooke has noted mole activity in his report today. Over
the past week my wife and I have spotted mole activity everywhere we've been on a massive scale - apart (touch wood) from our garden. Is this in response to the frosts we've been experiencing? David Mitchell. 2m bsl. Minor hill top. Tunnelshire. |

OT sure, but if anyone knows a foolproof (preferably fairly humane) way of discouraging the blighters let me know please ... I bought a solar-powered mole scarer a couple of years back, that seemed to do the trick for a while, but now it/they dig holes right next to it. When we were on holiday near Abergavenny in mid-December we noticed a
gret deal of mole activity. That was before the frosty weather set in. Norman -- Norman Lynagh Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire 85m a.s.l. (remove "thisbit" twice to e-mail) |

Currently "camping" in a flat we own in High Wycombe while some problems are sorted out in the chain. All our goods and chattels have been in store since 23rd Dec. With a lot of luck and a following wind we might, just might, get to completion on Friday this week but it's not a done deal yet though we are hoping to exchange contracts tomorrow. Fingers and all sorts of other appendages are firmly crossed! It has been a Christmas and New Year with a difference. Norman -- Norman Lynagh Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire 85m a.s.l. I have a battery powered tube thing that emits a noise every minute or so, it reckons it simulates a distress call. Got it at a garden centre. Works a treat, as I have moles in the paddock but not in the garden. I used to trap them but that was rather upsetting disposing of the carcasses. Will -- |
