![]() Started snowing again, Vis 12Km. 25cm level depth hardly any drifting. My 10ft silver birch bent right down to the ground with the weight of snow, fortunately not broken, but my large gorse bush is. Just returned after a walk into town, no papers today! Main road snow covered but turning slushy in places as 2 snowploughs, a JCB & a snow blower (as well as a few land rovers) have driven over it. A sea/air rescue helicopter fm Chivenor recently landed in the local park, now flown off. Scenes very reminiscent of the winters of 1978, 79 & 81 back in south wales. Vis down to 4000m now as more large flakes are coming down. Temp +0.4'C David naylor, Okehampton |
