If the pressure is low enough I think some people will be very
surprised by the amount of snow this will bring - a depression with
that centre would give the equivalent of being up much higher than sea
level...

to the south (according to GFS). I think the greatest problem this
could bring would be flooding given that the ground will be saturated
or snow-covered.

Potentially damaging winds as well. Mean speeds of 50mph predicted
for Scilly, and Force 8-9 for west Cornwall & the Channel Isles on
www.xcweather.co.uk/. Not currently supported by the MetO though.

The Stour north of Christchurch near here is pretty much ready to spill
its banks. Already large pools of water (ice today!) where the ground
can't absorb any more. Any more significant rainfall could tip the balance.
