Min was -10.2C here last night but it pales into insignificance compared
with Aviemore's -17C.

WeatherOnline gives -17.7C for Aviemore at 08.00; that's frustratingly
close to zero Fahrenheit! Going by the list of coldest days of each year
on Trevor Harley's site, if confirmed it would seem to be the coldest UK
temperature since 2003:

Isn't "18 years" the span by which we measure everything these days?
It was amazing how London's heaviest snow for 18 years soon became
Britain's heaviest snow for 18 years.
