Default {WR} Haytor 14/2/09 (a fine morning)

0815

Superb visibility in clear air (over 40km).
Temp. +1.9C
Only remains of snowman in garden now, but substantial patches of snow on
the moor, particularly above 400m asl.
No wind.

A stroll round the area revealed a lot of litter around the car parks, bits
of plastic/wood people used for sledging, cans, cartons, food wrappers, and
yes even a condom! Now the snow is going peace and sanity will return and it
will be mainly walkers using the car parks. One of the pleasures of living
in a "honeypot" location I guess!

I would like to add:

The farmers on the Clwydian slopes suffer from broken hedges and
fences plus discarded plastic bags and innertubes left behind by the
sledgers; one of Jones's customers decided that it was a good time
time to spread slurry when snow was imminent.
