Default [WR] Dartmoor (Glorious day)

Although day max. was only 10C at 300m and circa 7-8C at 600m asl it was
absolutely fantastic walking on the moor today. Visibility was 40 miles or
more and the sun was warm with a gentle F2-3 rather cold wind, liberal doses
of sun cream required. Managed to walk 17 miles (Postbridge - Lynch Tor -
Cut Hill (603m asl) - Sittaford - Postbridge). Feet absolutely soaked as
moor is still very wet and I slipped in a stream, but hey who cares on such
a beautiful clear day. Best day's walking I've had for years!

I haven't been looking at the charts lately. Is the nice weather
seasonal or are they the Borrowed Days of Weatherlore?

If so, more convergence and natural "disasters" for the unwary.

Can't say that I agree with those who question your forecasts, your
meteorology knowledge is obvious and your informed comment about the
weather is appreciated, even by me.

Notwithstanding all the above, you are a wholly smug git. You live in
upland Devon and support Manchester United so what? I suspect you do
feel superior but that says something about you and there's some around
(apart from me) who see you for the crass git you are. Hint there's
loads of places equal to and plenty more majestic than upland Devon. As
for Merchandise United? Don't make me laugh.

Stick to what you do best, which is interpreting the air flow over the
British Isles but please stop being so smug about your lifestyle it's
really nothing special at all.

Not that you will listen but here goes. I grew up in the back streets of
Manchester and my parents were not well off. I lived circa 3 miles from Old
Trafford so they were my *local* team as a lad and I went to every home
game. So I apologise for supporting my local team as a boy and not a Devon
one.

Er when I lived in Berkshire I used to go on cycle rides and report back on
here about those too, so what is different now? Others report what they do
as well, Nick goes to the beach, Graham goes in the sea, Tudor plays his
trombone. so what, you seem to tolerate them but not me, all I get from you
are insults. You know what - your post says more about you than me I
suspect, you just cannot seem to tolerate folk enjoying life can you?

*I* know that. You are the one putting a value judgement on it!

Hi Will

Actually from your comment :-

you just cannot seem to tolerate folk enjoying life can you?

What a load of ******** of course I can, I enjoy my life, I live in a
fantastic place too. Your motivation has just dawned on me, I'd written
you off as a self centred smug git, and open to stick. Despite your
obvious knowledge of meteorology. However I now realize that you love
your life in Devon very much and simply want to share your joy with
everybody. I've just realized that fact, however you do come across
as ultra smug. With the greatest respect, I'd suggest that you think
about your postings before pressing the send button.

By the way, my name is genuine as is the 'reply to' address, previously
I'd just been avoiding spam.

Two things Will, wish you'd cut your replies to newsgroups more
efficiently, are you using Google groups or just stupid? And I live in
the Isle of Man, every bit as impressive as upland Devon, even more to
me and far less populated. I'm not for the minute jealous of you
enjoying life, I enjoy mine too, the only difference between us is that
I don't feel the need to boast to an internet newsgroup about it.

Cheers
