After a fresher day yesterday, due to lower humidity and a consistent
light to moderate sea breeze, today looks like being the hottest day of the year so far. A cooler night (Min 9.8C), but at 08:40 the temperature is already up to 20.3C. I notice that Plymouth was reporting 21C at 08:20. Around thirty basking sharks have taken up residence off Sennen, and now the dolphins are around as well www.sennen-cove.com/birds.htm (scroll down this months sightings) Perfect flat sea conditions for spotting them. Today could be hotter here as it is now 1C warmer than this time yesterday,
but that is all reliant on the sea breeze staying away. Another cloudless start to the day with the sunshine recorder turning on at 05:29. An overnight minimum of 10.4C. Yesterday was another very warm day, 27.4C until a 'late in the day' sea breeze arrived at around 5pm and knocked the temperature back from 27C to 21C in just a few minutes. Until the sea breeze arrived there had hardly been a breath of wind all day which added to the warmth feel of the day. 15.5 hours of unbroken sunshine yesterday. More humid today. (09:00), 18.6C, DP 79%, DP 14.3C, 1022 hPa (F), Wind 2 mph var. ____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
