Persistence of rainfall rather than total amount was the main
feature of July 2009. The total was 178mm(173% of normal), but there were 24 'wet' days of 1.0mm+, including the last twelve days of the month. Wettest day was the 29th with 32mm. With winds mostly from a S to SW direction temperatures were slightly above the normal. There was thunder on five days, all in the first half of the month. |

Details: Rainfall: 174.7mm (198% of 1971-2000 average) Mean Temperatu +13.6C (-0.9C compared to 1971-2000 average) (note that the 1971-2000 averages are estimated for this location) Steve Graham Rossendale 950ft AMSL |
