Could someone please suggest a good site for:
1. getting ships call signs
2. getting obs knowing those call signs.

I used to have these when I did not want them particularly; now I am back
from holiday and want to check some, I'm blowed if I can find them! Googling
has not been a happy experience here; I just cannot phrase the question to
get a small number of USEFUL sites.

Hi Rodney,

This one is a good starting point.

Rodney, I have stored here, global data synop collectives at the main and
intermediate synoptic hours. If you let me know which days you are
interested in, I will e-mail them to you.

Very kind. As they are relevant to recent goings on perhaps you could "news"
them rather than private email.

Time: 2009 Nov 7 1800 to Nov 8 1200
Area: 51 N to 45 N, 0 W to 10 W
Stations: all SHIPS especial GBQV

Quite right, this is one that I had lost. It now seems to be general access,
I recall it being restricted to subscribers before - but perhaps that was
another site.

To get a vessel from its callsign you can sign up to Equasis:

http://www.equasis.org/EquasisWeb/pu...ge?fs=HomePage

sailwx.info is another useful site but with AWS callsign masking the
number of vessels doing traditional "met" are set to decrease.
