And no mention of Accuweather - poor Joe! We'll just have to put up
with this kind of bilge I'm afraid. Someone can always forecast a
season better than the MetO. No wonder really, as seasonal forecasting
is pretty impossible IMO, for *anyone* with any long-term accuracy and
neither of the two metioned in this thread can demonstrate that.
Seasonal prognostication is another matter and we'll be inundated in
March with people claiming to have forecast this unusually cold
winter.

When we are, please ask them how many of the last 20 they got right!

Joe has made so far to my knowledge made two outstanding long range forecast
Remind me again what was the Metoffice forecast for the last two suumers and
this winter.

I have no doubt whatsover that UKMO has become totally politicised with
strategic idealogues being placed within the organistation. I'd wager that
they are now plagued with H&S, Statement of Porpose crap and diversity
training. Weather forecasting is just part of what they do.

Their forecast for last night was and absolute disgrace with no public
apology offered on their dogs breakfast of a website.

Give me Joe anyday, why? Because he's free to give his views unlike UKMO
where I'd wager you'd have to be careful that you never strayed from the
party line or promotions would be in jeopardy. It's a microcosm under Labour
of a party organ.

I was just watching last week's interview with the PM on the Andrew
Marr show.

He was asked how the UK economy was going to be able to get out of
this mess, now that manufacturing is no longer a big player, and the
city is losing its status and control to the other Europeans..
Both have been the economic drivers in the recent past.

He said that the government's policy was to make the UK the digital
leader in the world, and to also make it a leader in low carbon / new
energy technologies.
Wind power etc, and this new industry would generate over one million
new jobs..
The government would invest heavily in the green industry.

So that's it then… the Global Warming policy must be maintained and
promoted at all cost, otherwise the UK's economic policy goes out the
window.

Whoever thought that one up…

Another right wing, political, prejudiced and now fish-unfriendly
criticism. Leave it out Lawrence.

You haven't monitored Joe's forecasts and I said ask him about the
last 20 years, not just 2 that you remember, conveniently forgetting
the poor ones - as is always the way with people that don't keep any
records of their forecast outcome accuracy statistics.

Its nothing to do with right wing views this government has interefered with
all aspects of daily life. You work in education so you would have
experienced targets, diversity, Outcomes all that absolute stalinist style
control stuff which has no bearing whatsoever on wht you do.

One day soon the truth will out

I say let the Porposes out first!! Fishy rights for all Porposes! (OK,
